Quitting a job can be an emotional experience, especially for someone who has spent a lot of time and built an emotional connection to their job. An example of this was the retirement of a bus driver who had served for 30 years, an event that moved him to tears.

The driver, Muthupandi, has been working as a driver for the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) for 30 years. In an incident documented by a bus conductor, Muthupandi was the last to be seen exiting the bus. He hugged the bus, visibly moved, with tears in his eyes.

The Driver Shared How His Profession Earned Him Social Respect

Muthupandi took to the camera to express his deep respect for his work, acknowledging that it gave him social status and respect when he started 30 years ago. He even reveals that he got married after securing his job as his chauffeur.

It’s unclear if this is the same bus he’s driven throughout his career, but it’s likely. Still, it’s clear that Muthupandi spent a lot of time inside the bus featured in the video. Driver’s touching farewell video went viral on various social media platforms.

Many of these bus drivers were hired decades ago and have spent their entire lives driving the same routes. Many incidents like this show that drivers have a deep emotional bond with their buses, which have become an integral part of their daily lives over the years.

Route closures make bus drivers emotional

Last year, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) announced the launch of a new long-distance bus service called Swift. As part of his KSRTC’s plan to replace the old interstate buses with new KSRTC Swift buses, a legally independent company was created to operate these buses. As a result, services such as the Changanaseri-Velangkani interstate super-express were suspended, and the bus driver, Mr Ponnukuttan, who had a strong emotional bond with the bus, was greatly affected mentally. However, surprisingly, KSRTC has announced that it will maintain the service.

The report said Ponnukuttan had been driving a bus on the route for 10 years. He was appalled to learn that the Super Express service on this line had been replaced by Swiftbus. The news was a shock to him. However, it was stated that not only the driver but also the passengers were happy with the decision.

With the increased use of dashboard cameras, it is now possible to view different accidents from different perspectives. This is something that happened some time ago that shows why slow-moving cars are so dangerous on highways. For this reason, slow-moving vehicles cannot pass on expressways.

Video captured by a Maruti Suzuki Baleno dashcam shows a relatively empty highway somewhere in Tamil Nadu. A Maruti Suzuki Baleno was driving in the rightmost lane at a moderate speed when the driver spotted an autorickshaw.

Read Also: HONDA ELEVATE TESTING SHOTS LEAKED FROM JAPAN OFFICIAL LAUNCH ON 6 JUNE

Instead of slowing, the driver drifts to the left and can pass the auto-rickshaw and keep going. However, the auto-rickshaw also starts running to the left. The driver of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno was unable to find an exit and crashed into the rear of the autorickshaw.

As a result of this accident, a man fell from a rickshaw. Several women sat in the backseat of the auto-rickshaw, which crashed into the Baleno’s hood. No one was seriously injured in this accident.

But who do you think is at fault here?

The driver of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno also tried to pass on the left side of the tricycle, although the primary responsibility for the accident lay with the tricycle driver who changed lanes without checking his mirrors. In general, such autorickshaws do not move when you honk their horns, so the Baleno driver may have tried to overtake them on the left. However, both parties are equally responsible for this crash.

In general, it is recommended to pass vehicles on the right side. It is also important to avoid driving into the blind spots of other vehicles. Trucks in particular have large blind spots, and the limited visibility area for truck drivers is larger on the left side. When overtaking, it is recommended to use the right lane. In India, where right-hand drive vehicles are fitted, visibility is usually better on the right than on the left. On highways, it is preferable to overtake on the right, as there are no right-turn lanes on the right where vehicles can suddenly change direction. Due to the right-hand drive setup, drivers tend to pay more attention to the right than the left.

Therefore, it is recommended to always overtake on the right side. When passing a large vehicle such as a bus or truck, it is important to perform manoeuvres quickly and flash your headlights to signal your intentions. These are basic road safety precautions that help you avoid potential risks. Also, it is important to always pay attention while driving. It is recommended to stop and rest when you feel tired. Alternatively, if possible, consider hiring someone else to drive.

After years of silence, Honda Cars India, the Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto giant Honda, is finally entering the highly competitive midsize SUV segment. The company plans to meet this challenge with an all-new Elevate that will make its official debut on June 6th. The test mule for this upcoming SUV has been spotted being tested multiple times in India just days before its launch, another test vehicle was spotted testing in Japan as well, and other important information about the upcoming SUV. Details have emerged.

Honda Elevate Spy Shots

Images of the latest test mule spotted in Japan show that the Elevate has a strikingly similar aesthetic to the recently launched Honda WR-V SUV in the Indonesian market. First, the Elevate has an upright stance similar to the WR-V. Up front, it has a muscular front end that might include Honda’s signature Jewel Chrome finish grille. The headlights will probably consist entirely of LED units, giving the vehicle a smoother and more aggressive look. A strong front bumper further emphasizes the upright position, with fog lights and possibly a silver skid plate.

Another profile photo of the Elevate test car has been shared, showing the SUV with pleasing proportions. These ratios were reportedly set taking into account the Indian market and buyer preferences. It’s worth noting that Honda doesn’t typically test Indian products in its home market of Japan. However, although the Elevate is probably the first model developed for India, it has also been tested in Japan for the global market. Back in the spy shots, you can also see alloy wheels on the side of the car similar to those found on Honda’s city sedan in India. These alloy wheels are finished in black, but there are reports that top-of-the-range models may also come in black or diamond cut. Lower spec versions may have a silver finish.

One of the sharpest spy shots of the rear of this upcoming SUV was also recently shared. A new spy shot of the rear suggests the taillights are likely carried over from the Indonesian WR-V. These tail lights feature a two-piece light with the top LED section extending to the side of the vehicle. Halogen bulbs may be used for backlights and blinkers. In this spy video, the existence of an advanced driver assistance system “ADAS” is also confirmed. A 360-degree camera setup is visible in one of the side mirrors.

Honda recently announced and confirmed that the Elevate will be equipped with Honda Sensing Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) along with all future Honda vehicles launched in India. For those who don’t know, Honda Sensing ADAS is the brand’s suite of safety technologies designed to increase driver awareness and reduce potential hazards on the road. It integrates various sensors and cameras to provide comprehensive functions that improve driving safety.

Honda Elevate Official Date Poster

The Honda Elevate will be equipped with a 1.5-litre gasoline engine that is also used in Honda’s medium-sized city sedan. The engine produces 150Nm of torque and 121 horsepower. However, it is reported that Honda may tailor performance characteristics to the SUV form factor. Depending on the variant, the SUV could have the same CVT or six-speed manual transmission options as the Honda City. Safety features such as Honda’s LaneWatch system, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and the rear-view camera will be installed on the next SUV from June 6th.

To combat air and noise pollution from vehicles on its roads, the Punjab Police have adopted strict anti-violation measures. In a recent case, a repeat offender was arrested for driving a tractor equipped with an illegal 52-speaker audio system known to make loud noises. The Punjab police team determined that the culprits installed the music system on the tractor, making it taller than a typical truck.

The incident occurred in Khanna village, Punjab, where a young man was arrested for driving a completely rebuilt tractor with various modifications and custom features. The highlight of the modification was the 52-speaker sound system installed by the tractor owner.

The entire audio system, consisting of speakers and amplifiers, was mounted at the rear of the tractor. The police noted that the overall structure, reaching a height of 10-12 feet, exceeded the height of a regular heavy-duty truck. Additionally, the tractor owner was found to be causing disturbances outside schools and colleges by playing excessively loud music from the heavily modified audio system. Furthermore, the tractor was also equipped with a pressure horn, which is prohibited.

The incident happened in Khanna village

Punjab police have arrested a tractor owner who repeatedly violated traffic safety rules. Police said the owner had previously been arrested and warned for similar behaviour but had disobeyed the rules. When the owner of a tractor equipped with an illegal music system and horn was arrested, he tried to escape by driving the tractor at high speed. However, the traffic police managed to detain him and detain him along with the tractor.

A subsequent investigation revealed that the tractor owner had previously been charged with six separate counts. The tractor was found to have been driving without valid insurance, discharge certificate and registration certificate, further complicating the situation for the owner. Police have filed multiple complaints against the tractor owner and said further trials are expected in the district court. They also suggested that fines imposed on tractor owners could range from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2 lakh.

What modifications are allowed?

Certain modifications can be made to the vehicle without changing the manufacturer’s original specifications. These included cosmetic changes such as a repaint of the car, minor additions such as a rain visor and bumper corner protectors, larger tires and wheels within limits set by the automaker, and pre-approved by the RTO. Including engine replacement. However, if any of these rules are violated, the vehicle owner faces fines such as a fine of Rs.5,000 per alteration or imprisonment for up to six months.

It is important to note that vehicle structural modifications are not permitted by law in India. The Supreme Court of India and the Motor Vehicles Act prohibit such modifications for use on public roads. These vehicles can be used as project vehicles or on private property such as racetracks or farms but can be seized by police if found on public roads.

Internationally, several new regulations have been introduced regarding emissions and vehicle build quality. As a result, manufacturers around the world have been forced to modify existing models or discontinue production of some models. I’ve seen several examples of cars built by local factories. This is happening not only in India but also abroad. Outside India, many build road-legal vehicles in their own garages. One of these gentlemen was John Dodd from England. In 1977 John Dodd built the world’s most powerful car, the Beast. Here’s a video showing the current state of John Dodd’s Beast.

Legendary ‘The Beast’ has the 27,000 cc engine of the Spitfire aircraft

John Dodd’s photo

This video was uploaded to their YouTube channel by The Late Brake Show. In this video, the host talks about the history of this beast. The car design is completely unconventional. It has a strange design with a hood that is nearly 10 feet long. Development of the Beast began in 1966 and Dodd was commissioned to build a custom Rolling gearbox for his chassis. The chassis was equipped with a Rolls-Royce Meteor tank engine. In the end, John bought the same car and completed the project.

Since it uses a rolling chassis, the exterior design is completely made to order. John consulted a workshop that specialized in fibreglass bodywork for cars, especially dragsters. The car received a fibreglass body with a Rolls-Royce Cornish front grille. Rolls-Royce was not very pleased with the move and took John Dodd to court. This made the car very popular in media publications. The bodies shown in the video are not the first. John even brought his car to Sweden to avoid legal action.

The body was built by a company called Fibre Glass Repairs and ‘The Beast’ was fitted with a grille and a Rolls-Royce mascot.

In 1974 the car was severely damaged in a fire. After the incident, John decides to rebuild the car and replace the engine as well. The Rolls-Royce Meteor tank engine was replaced with a Merlin V12 engine originally developed for fighter aircraft. The 27-litre V12 engine occupied most of the space under the hood due to its enormous size. Cooling requires a lot of air, so the hood had multiple vents to prevent overheating. The Beast’s new body design was different from the old version. He had a station wagon-like design now also known as the Shooting Brake.

An engine derived from the Spitfire aircraft on the roads

The redesign of the car replaced the controversial Rolls-Royce grille with a bespoke unit bearing John Dodd’s initials. The interior of the car has also been redesigned, with a classic beige-brown paint finish. The 19-foot-tall car was powered by a Merlin V12 engine, producing 950 horsepower and 1030 Nm of torque. It could reach speeds of up to 322 km/h, a feat unmatched by any other production car of the time. This made the Beast one of the most powerful cars of its time. John Dodd used to drive this car when he wasn’t working on the huge engine.

Tata punch caught fire

It is unclear if the car has already arrived at the service centre and Tata Motors has not provided a diagnostic report on the fire or its cause. In a recent incident involving the Mahindra XUV700, the company detailed that the fire was caused by the installation of an aftermarket accessory. However, Tata Motors has yet to release such information or statements.

3 More Tata cars caught fire in the past

Up to three Tata Punch cars have been hit by fire in the past. The latest incident occurred in Guwahati, Assam, when a punch caught fire in the middle of the road.

Car fires can occur in any make of a vehicle and are a serious safety hazard, so it is important to take great care when handling your vehicle. Most fires are caused by aftermarket installations or cable connections. It is important to note that such modifications may also affect the vehicle’s warranty.

The Tata Punch fire accident may have been accidental, but Tata Motors needs to investigate the matter and find out the root cause. The manufacturer can restore the trust of the purchaser by thoroughly investigating and investigating the cause. Tata is a customer-favourite brand for its build quality, and events like this could make customers reconsider their choices.

Tata Punch wasn’t the only one that caught fire. A video of Tata Nexon and an 11-month-old Tata Harrier catching fire has also surfaced online. In the case of the Tata Nexon, vigilant guards managed to extinguish the fire, but in the case of the Harrier, the car burst into flames in the middle of the road and the owner managed to escape. These accidents show how important it is to investigate the root causes of car fires to prevent such accidents in the future.

Another special measure by the Government of India and the Reserve Bank of India has mandated that 2,000 rupee notes be exchanged or deposited into accounts by 30 September. This sudden announcement, similar to demonetization, has created a commotion in the country, with numerous individuals rushing to banks, businesses, and petrol pumps to exchange these notes. However, many of these companies refuse to accept these banknotes causing problems, leading to an even worse scenario. Recently, a man who went to a petrol station to fill up his scooter was asked to return the fuel given to him after he tried to pay with a 2,000 rupee note. A video capturing the incident has since gone viral.

The video, shared on Twitter by Haider Naqvi, shows a man at a pump station draining petrol from his scooter after he refused to accept a 2000 rupee note. Naqvi explained in a tweet: “In Jalaung, a man offered a 2000 rupee note to a petrol station.

From the video, we observe one employee engaging in a conversation with the person recording the video, while another employee is squatting on the floor, using a plastic pipe to extract petrol from the man’s scooter into a container. The video reveals the vehicle number and the faces of the employees involved in this unethical practice. According to reports, this incident occurred at the Hindustan petrol pump in front of D Mart in the Orai Kotwali area of Jalaun, Uttar Pradesh. It was also reported that the man requested the petrol pump attendants to fill his scooter with Rs 400 worth of petrol, but when he attempted to pay with the Rs 2000 note, they refused to accept it and began removing the filled fuel from his scooter.

Rs. 2000 Note will disappear soon – by the order of RBI

2000 Rupee Note Bundle

For those who don’t know, the RBI recently announced its withdrawal from circulation of the highest denomination notes. The 2000 rupee notes introduced in 2016 will remain legal tender, but citizens are required to deposit or redeem these notes by 30 September 2023. The situation is reminiscent of a de-monetization process, but this time there will be less disruption as paper money will be phased out over a long period of time.

The answer for those wondering why this decision was made is that when the 2000 rupee banknote was introduced in 2016, it was intended to quickly replenish cash in circulation after being phased out in fact. However, the central bank has consistently expressed its desire to reduce the circulation of high denomination notes and has stopped printing 2000 rupee banknotes for the past four years. There is speculation that the Indian government may have implemented this measure ahead of the general election, but no definite statement has been made. Apart from this speculation, neither the Central Bank of India nor the Government of India has disclosed any other specific reasons for this action.

Mahindra has issued a statement regarding the incident.

The XUV700 is India’s largest utility manufacturer Mahindra’s flagship SUV and is currently one of the most popular SUVs in India. The success of this model is due to its attractive equipment and excellent value for money compared to other SUVs. However, despite its popularity and progress, it is not without flaws. Since its launch, the vehicle has suffered from various problems. Recently, his XUV700 owner named Kuldeep Singh recounted a horrifying incident when his 6-month-old Mahindra XUV700 caught fire unexpectedly on a highway in Jaipur.

The owner expressed his frustration by tweeting, “Thank you Mahindra for risking my family’s life with a top-quality product (XUV700)” after the car caught fire while driving on Jaipur highway. bottom. It’s not overheating. Smoke entered the car while it was running, and a fire broke out. @anandmahindra @MahindraRise @tech_mahindra”

A video shared by the owner shows that the fire was contained within the engine compartment and did not spread to the interior of the vehicle. Still, the incident was horrific and the exact cause of the fire remains unknown. In the comments section of the Twitter post, many have speculated that modifications made by Short and later car owners may have been to blame. However, the owner said the car is only six months old and has not undergone any modifications.

The video also shows people in the vicinity of the car trying to extinguish the blaze with water, which is not the safest method. I should have used a fire extinguisher instead. For those of you who don’t know what to do when your car fires, here are some key points to keep in mind when extinguishing a car fire.

Keep calm and park your car

Find a safe place to stop, away from cars and other vehicles. Turn off the engine and park your car. If possible, apply the emergency/parking brake to prevent movement.

Evacuate the vehicle

Make sure that all occupants, including yourself, exit the vehicle immediately and keep a safe distance of at least 30 meters from the burning vehicle.

Call the emergency services

To report a fire, call your country’s emergency number (such as 101 in India). Provide accurate information about places and conditions.

Warn others

Use hazard lights, flares, or warning triangles to warn other drivers of your car’s fire and keep a safe distance.

Do not open the hood

Opening the hood will supply more oxygen to the fire, making the situation even worse. It is important to keep the hood closed to restrict oxygen flow.

Use a fire extinguisher

If you have a fire extinguisher nearby and can safely extinguish it, point it at the source of the fire, or fire, and shake it left and right until the fire is extinguished. However, only attempt this if you are properly trained and confident in using a fire extinguisher. Safety should always come first.

Do not use water

Never use water to extinguish a car fire. Be especially careful when flammable liquids and electrical components are involved. Water splash can spread the fire or cause an explosion.

Wait for the professional help

After taking initial firefighting measures, it is best to wait for professional firefighters to arrive. They are equipped and trained to safely handle vehicle fires.

Remember that your safety and that of others is of utmost importance. If the fire gets out of control, don’t risk it. Move to a safe place and let the professionals handle the situation.

The automobile industry is changing around the world. Governments are implementing stricter emission norms forcing manufacturers to discontinue many models. Other than the new emission norms, we are also seeing a rise in the number of electric cars in the market. The future of mobility at this rate would definitely be EVs and we have spoken about the same in our previous articles. If you have a soft corner for classic cars, then here we have a set of vehicles that one can buy at a very cheap price. These cars will be the classic cars of the future and maybe collector cars in the future.

Maruti 800

This little family hatchback needs no introduction. This car was produced from 1983 to 2014. This tiny hatchback has made owning a car a dream come true for many middle-class Indian families. Most of these have been altered or rusted, making it difficult to find well-preserved specimens. This popular hatchback is still available on the used car market, and since it’s a Maruti, maintenance isn’t too difficult. Ideally, I would like to draw your attention to the Type 1 Multi 800 with square headlights, which are very rare on our roads.

Maruti Omni

Another Maruti car will soon be considered a future classic. I’m sure many of you reading this article have memories of this van. This minibus was probably a school bus for many of you reading this article. This was Marti’s second model, launched in 1984. This van was produced until 2020. Production has been discontinued due to BS6 emission regulations. Some examples of Maruti Omni vans are still available on the used car market today. These vans are available at a very affordable price.

Tata Nano

This was a hatchback launched to revolutionize the domestic four-wheeler market. However, it was poorly marketed and cheaply priced, making it a very suitable car for city use. It didn’t go very well. The Tata Nano is the perfect city car and is what many people are looking for on the used car market right now. Previous versions of Nano were poorly maintained and had missing features. The later models came with power windows, power steering and even an AMT gearbox for convenience.

Hindustan Motors Ambassador

This car is one of those cars we all know will be a collector’s car in the future. This car played a pivotal role in Indian automotive history. This limousine was used by politicians and diplomats and was presented as a status symbol in society. Many people liked this sedan for its rear-seat comfort. Even today, there are many examples of well-preserved and improved embassies in different parts of the country. I don’t know if it’s available at a cheap price.

Honda City type 2

The last car on the list is one that is beloved by many Indian car enthusiasts. Honda City Type 2, specifically his 1.5-litre VTEC petrol engine. This sedan remains he one of the most reliable sedans on the market today. It featured a different wheelset and even had a VTEC badge on the trunk. This is a car with a lot of mod potential, and we’ve seen a few similar examples in the past. Finding a well-maintained stock car can be difficult. Even if you do find one, I’m not sure the owner will give it away for cheap.
