As a further development on this issue, Ola Electric has now officially announced that it will actually refund all customers.

The statement also thanked the government, especially Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, for its progressive approach and policies to the electric vehicle industry, including FAME, PLI-AAT and PLI-ACC. The government’s unwavering support and partnerships with Ola Electric and the sector have helped accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in the country, the company said.
Other major EV scooter makers, namely Ather, TVS and Vida (Hero MotoCorp’s EV sub-brands) are also reportedly issuing refunds to customers for the same reason. All of these companies have been found guilty of separately billing customers for EV scooter chargers. A survey of this major automaker was initiated by the Ministry of Heavy Industry.
His Ather Energy, a Bangalore-based start-up, will return an estimated total of Rs 140 crore to his 95,000 customers across the country, according to reports. Additionally, TVS will refund INR 1.61 billion to 87,000 customers who purchased iQube S models between May 2022 and March 2023. Government officials have determined that Hero MotoCorp will produce its 2.23 billion Pro version of the e-2W by March 2023 launch.
For those who are unaware, the Ministry of Heavy Industry has sued whistleblowers alleging that all four of these companies fraudulently claimed at least Rs.
