In the second quarter of FY24, Tata Power deployed 11,529 new EV home chargers.

In response to the rising popularity of electric cars in India, Tata Power, a prominent provider of EV charging solutions, has installed 62,000 EV home chargers across the country. This accomplishment involves the installation of 11,529 new EV home chargers in the second quarter of fiscal year 24.

Virendra Goyal, Head of Business Development (EV Charging), at Tata Power, highlighted the accomplishment by saying, “Surpassing the milestone of 62,000 home chargers underscores our unwavering commitment to accelerating the electric mobility revolution in India. We are resolute in delivering a seamless, accessible, and user-friendly charging infrastructure to meet the charging requirements of EV owners at the convenience of their homes.”

Additionally, Tata Power’s strategic placement of public EV charging points at various locations such as offices, residential welfare associations (RWAs), hotels, hospitals, car dealerships, malls, and highways helps to establish a nationwide out-of-home charging network. Tata Power EZ Charge enhanced its presence in the September 2023 quarter by adding 180 e-bus charging points, raising the total number to 464.

Moreover, in August 2023, Tata Power teamed with Zoomcar to improve the accessibility of EV charging in India. Tata Power’s EZ Charge stations are incorporated into the Zoomcar platform, catering to both existing and future EV owners, as well as Zoomcar’s client base.

New Toyota and Lexus EVs will include NACS charging connectors starting in 2025 while existing EV owners with CCS-compatible chargers will receive a NACS converter.

Toyota Motor North America has signed an agreement with Tesla to use the latter’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its forthcoming electric cars (EVs) beginning in 2025. As a consequence, Toyota and Lexus customers will have access to over 12,000 Tesla Superchargers located throughout North America.

Toyota is going to install the NACS ports into selected Toyota and Lexus BEVs to integrate them. Customers who own or lease eligible Toyota and Lexus vehicles that are now equipped with the Combined Charging System (CCS) will be given an adapter to enable NACS charging beginning in 2025.

Customers will have access to a vast charging network, consisting of over 84,000 charging outlets across North America, including both Level 2 and DC fast chargers, through specific Toyota and Lexus mobile applications.

BMW also recently announced a partnership with Tesla to provide supercharger access across the United States and Canada. Automakers with electric lineups are now embracing the Tesla charger to give comfort and convenience to EV users in order to drive BEV adoption.
