Honda Elevate facelift: what changes on 6 October?

Honda is taking an evolutionary route. Expect a redesigned grille, revised LED lighting, new bumpers and new 17-inch alloys. Inside, reports point to a new cabin theme, a larger touchscreen, ventilated seats and a 360-degree camera, features buyers have asked for since launch.

The 1.5-litre petrol with 121hp and a 6-speed manual or CVT continues. There is still no hybrid or turbo option. Who it is for: buyers who want a roomy, fuss-free petrol SUV with Honda's reliability and do not need diesel or AWD.

Tata Aeris: is the new compact sedan worth the wait?

The Aeris is the one car on this list with official prices. Tata launched it on 25 September at an introductory Rs 5.29 lakh, going up to Rs 9.74 lakh (ex-showroom), across Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative and Accomplished trims. Deliveries begin on 11 October, the same day Navratri starts.

It uses a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol with 86hp, plus a CNG version with 76hp, both with manual or AMT. Six airbags are standard, and higher trims add ventilated seats, wireless charging, a 360-degree camera and a built-in dashcam function. Boot space is 419 litres on petrol versions. Who it is for: first-time buyers and families moving up from a hatchback who want a Dzire, Amaze or Aura rival at a lower starting price.

Toyota Glanza facelift: what is new?

Toyota will show the updated Glanza on 14 October, about a month after the Baleno facelift. It is reported as a debut, so prices may follow later. The big change under the bonnet is the new Z12E 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol from the Baleno, with 83hp and 112Nm, plus a 70hp CNG option. Reports also mention Level 2 ADAS, ventilated front seats and TPMS.

Who it is for: city hatchback buyers who like the Baleno but prefer Toyota's warranty and service experience. If you already own a Glanza, a set of brighter LED headlights is a cheaper way to freshen up night driving than trading in.

Renault Duster Hybrid: how does the E-Tech 160 work?

Launching on 17 October, the Duster Hybrid pairs a 1.8-litre four-cylinder petrol with two electric motors and a 1.4kWh battery for 160hp and 172Nm. Renault says around 80 percent of city driving can happen in EV mode. It becomes the fourth strong hybrid midsize SUV in India, after the Grand Vitara, Hyryder and Victoris.

The regular Duster starts at Rs 10.49 lakh with turbo petrol engines, so the hybrid will sit above that. The exact price is expected, not officially confirmed. Who it is for: high-mileage city drivers who want hybrid efficiency with a rugged SUV look.

Hyundai Bayon: where does it fit between Venue and Creta?

Bookings are already open at Rs 11,000 online and at dealers. The Bayon is about 4.2 metres long and slots between the Venue and Creta. It is set for a world debut at the Paris Motor Show on 12 October, with the India launch reported for mid to late October.

Power comes from a 1.5-litre petrol with about 115hp, with a 6-speed manual or IVT automatic, and Autocar India reports a CNG version with an underbody tank. Features reported include dual curved 12.3-inch screens, Level 2 ADAS, ventilated seats and a sunroof. Expected price: Rs 9 to 14 lakh, expected, not officially confirmed. Who it is for: buyers who find the Venue tight but the Creta too expensive.

What about the Skoda Slavia facelift?

The refreshed Slavia is expected on 6 October with new lighting signatures, a larger touchscreen and rear disc brakes on the 1.5 TSI. The 1.0 TSI reportedly gets an 8-speed automatic. Expected starting price is around Rs 10.25 lakh, expected, not officially confirmed. Its twin, the Volkswagen Virtus facelift, is also listed for October by Gaadiwaadi and Carlelo, but without a firm date.

Which luxury cars are launching in October 2026?

  • Mercedes-Maybach S-Class facelift (5 Oct): 180mm longer than the S-Class, V8 power, new grille and Superscreen dash. Expected about Rs 3.10 crore.
  • Volvo ES90 and EX90 (12 Oct): twin electric launches with 106kWh batteries and 456hp dual-motor AWD. The ES90 claims up to 696km WLTP range, the EX90 up to 625km and seats six or seven.
  • Audi Q3 third gen (16 Oct): bigger body, 204hp 2.0 turbo petrol, 7-speed DCT and quattro AWD, 0 to 100kph in 7.1 seconds. Expected Rs 55 to 60 lakh.

Which one should you wait for?

  • Budget under Rs 8 lakh: the Tata Aeris is ready to book now with official prices, while the Glanza facelift is worth a look if you prefer a hatchback.
  • Rs 9 to 14 lakh SUV: wait a few weeks for the Hyundai Bayon price before committing to a Venue or Brezza.
  • Rs 12 to 17 lakh family SUV: the Elevate facelift lands first, but if you drive mostly in the city, compare it with the Duster Hybrid on 17 October.
  • Sedan fans: the Slavia facelift and Aeris cover two very different budgets.
  • Luxury EV buyers: the Volvo pair brings long range, while the Audi Q3 is the easier entry into a German badge.

★ Autofy verdict
For most families, October's two most important cars are the Tata Aeris, because it is priced and ready, and the Hyundai Bayon, because it fills a real gap in the SUV market. If you are shopping for a midsize SUV, hold your booking until 17 October so you can compare the Elevate facelift with the Duster Hybrid. Treat every price other than the Aeris as expected, not officially confirmed until launch day.
