Two-wheeler sales October 2026: the brand-wise table
Here is how each reporting brand did in October 2026 against October 2025. Suzuki and Yamaha had not reported October figures when we published, so they are marked as such.
| Brand | Domestic Oct 2026 | Domestic Oct 2025 | Domestic YoY | Exports Oct 2026 | Total Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Honda (HMSI) | 6,64,831 | 5,98,952 | +11% | 69,735 | 7,34,566 |
| Hero MotoCorp | 7,05,084 | 6,04,829 | +16.6% | 29,319 | 7,34,403 |
| TVS Motor (2W only) | 5,14,764 | 4,21,631 | +22% | 1,55,915 | 6,70,679 |
| Bajaj Auto (2W only) | 2,92,885 | 2,66,470 | +10% | 2,08,309 | 5,01,194 |
| Royal Enfield | 1,21,527 | 1,16,844 | +4.0% | 11,915 | 1,33,442 |
| Suzuki | Not yet reported | Not yet reported | Not yet reported | Not yet reported | Not yet reported |
| Yamaha | Not yet reported | Not yet reported | Not yet reported | Not yet reported | Not yet reported |
A note on TVS: its headline 7,00,134 units includes three-wheelers. The two-wheeler subtotal, which we use above, is 6,70,679. Hero's total of 7,34,403 is 163 units behind Honda's 7,34,566, so the top spot is effectively a tie.
Brand by brand: what moved
Hero MotoCorp
Hero dispatched 7,34,403 units, up 15.5% from 6,35,808 in October 2025. Domestic dispatches were 7,05,084. Exports slipped to 29,319 from 30,979. September 2026 was higher at 7,66,348, so month-on-month dispatches fell about 4% (our calculation). Hero's Vahan retail count for October was 5,89,665, and its Vida electric scooters dispatched 30,143 units.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India
Honda sold 7,34,566 units, up 13% from 6,50,596. Domestic sales rose 11% to 6,64,831, while exports jumped 35% to 69,735. A September 2026 Honda figure was not in the sources we checked, so we do not quote a month-on-month change.
TVS Motor
TVS reported 7,00,134 units in total, up 29% from 5,43,557. Domestic two-wheelers grew 22% to 5,14,764 and international two-wheelers grew 51% to 1,55,915. Its electric two-wheeler sales more than doubled, up 120% to 71,382 units.
Bajaj Auto
Bajaj's two-wheelers hit 5,01,194 units, up 13%, of which 2,92,885 were domestic (+10%) and 2,08,309 were exports (+18%). Counting commercial vehicles, the company total was 5,91,876, up 14%.
Royal Enfield
Royal Enfield sold 1,33,442 motorcycles, up 6.8% YoY and 0.4% lower than September's 1,33,958. Exports grew about 47% to 11,915. The company said September and October together made 2,67,400 units, its best festive run so far.
Suzuki and Yamaha
Neither had published October 2026 numbers when we wrote this. We will not guess, and we will update this guide once they report.
Electric two-wheelers in October 2026
Vahan registrations show a record month of roughly 2.2 lakh electric two-wheelers, up 48% from a year ago. These are retail registrations, so they differ from the company-reported EV numbers above.
Ola Electric was the outlier, down 26% from 16,439 a year earlier, while Ather grew only 5%. Hero's Vida rose about 81% and Bajaj gained 51%.
Festive demand: retail versus dispatches
Diwali 2026 pushed retail registrations to 23,20,139 units in October, up 28.7% from September, per Vahan data reported by BusinessLine. Hero and Honda together held a 53.26% share, up from 50.33% in September. Dispatches can run ahead of retail, so the stock in dealerships over the next few weeks is worth watching.
Model-wise October 2026 numbers are not out yet. Rushlane and Autocar India usually publish model breakups in the days after the brand releases, and we will cover them once available.
New bike owner checklist for the winter months
If you took delivery this festive season, a few small buys protect a big purchase. Park outdoors? A waterproof bike cover starts from Rs 789 and keeps dew and dust off the paint.
For night rides in foggy weather, a 40W H4 LED headlight at Rs 999 gives a much brighter beam than most stock bulbs. Check that your bike takes an H4 fitting first.
Helmets get stolen quickly outside offices and markets. A heavy duty helmet lock costs Rs 289, and a simpler 4 digit helmet lock is Rs 279. Cycle owners in the family can add a wire cable lock for Rs 279.
Finally, keep a microfibre duster for bike and car (Rs 699) handy to wipe off dust between washes.
