The 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift launches in India on August 18. Skoda's midsize sedan gets a sharper face, new alloys, a larger digital driver's display and, on the 1.0 TSI automatic, a new 8-speed gearbox. Here is everything expected, plus how it stacks up against its rivals.
When does the 2026 Skoda Slavia facelift launch?
Skoda has confirmed an India launch date of August 18, 2026. It is a mid-life facelift rather than an all-new car, so the changes are focused on styling, cabin tech and the gearbox.
What is new on the outside and inside?
- Revised LED headlamps and restyled tail-lamps.
- A new grille with integrated lighting elements, in line with the latest Kushaq and Kodiaq.
- New alloy wheel designs and front parking sensors.
- A larger 10.25-inch digital driver's display and revised seat upholstery.
- Carried over: 10.25-inch touchscreen, single-pane sunroof, wireless charger, 8-speaker audio, six airbags and a tyre-pressure monitoring system.
Engines and gearbox
The Slavia keeps its two turbo-petrol engines. The headline mechanical change is the gearbox on the smaller unit.
- 1.0 TSI turbo-petrol, around 115 hp - expected to move from a 6-speed torque converter to a newer 8-speed automatic (as seen on the Kushaq facelift).
- 1.5 TSI turbo-petrol, around 150 hp, with a 7-speed DSG and cylinder deactivation.
- Manual gearbox options are expected to continue on both engines.
Expected price and rivals
Skoda has not officially confirmed pricing. Based on the current Slavia and industry estimates, the facelift is expected to start a touch higher than today, roughly in the Rs 11 to 12 lakh (ex-showroom) region. It continues to take on the Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City and Hyundai Verna.
| Sedan | Petrol engines | Standout | Starting price (ex-showroom) |
|---|---|---|---|

Autofy verdict
The Slavia facelift looks like a smart, low-risk update: fresher looks, a nicer driver's display and a smoother automatic, on a sedan that already drives and feels a class above its price. If you want a fun-to-drive, well-built midsize sedan, it is worth waiting for the August 18 prices before deciding between it and the Verna or City.
