What are the Hyundai Bayon variant-wise prices?

The Bayon comes in seven trims: HX2, HX3, HX3+, HX5, HX6, HX8 and HX10. The automatic starts only from HX5. Dual-tone (DT) versions of HX5 to HX10 cost Rs 15,000 more than the matching monotone. All prices are ex-showroom.

Autofy note: Hyundai's iVT is a CVT-type automatic, and some outlets call it CVT. CarToq counts 19 individual variants and Autocar India lists 20, because outlets count dual-tone and colour options differently.

What engine does the Bayon use, and what is the mileage?

There is one engine: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol making 115 PS and 143.8 Nm, shared with the Creta. It pairs with a 6-speed manual or an iVT automatic with paddle shifters, and has Eco, Normal and Sport modes. Front-wheel drive only, no turbo and no diesel.

On mileage, the ARAI-certified figure reported by CarDekho, CarWale and Autocar India is 18.6 kmpl for the iVT automatic. We could not find a published ARAI number for the manual, so treat any manual claim as unverified. Real-world figures will only come after road tests.

How big is the Hyundai Bayon?

It is a compact-looking midsize SUV, positioned between the Venue and the Creta. It measures 4,245 mm long, 1,810 mm wide and 1,605 mm tall (with roof rails), with a 2,600 mm wheelbase and 205 mm ground clearance. Boot space is reported at 505 litres, and the rear seat splits 60:40.

Keeping a fresh paint job spotless matters in the first month, and a wax-infused microfiber duster is a cheap, scratch-conscious habit for any new SUV owner.

Is the Hyundai Bayon safe? Does it have ADAS?

Six airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, hill-start assist, TPMS and ISOFIX come across the range. Parking sensors and the 360 degree camera start at HX8. Level 2 ADAS (SmartSense Level 2 Pro, 23 functions) is on the top HX10, per CarWale. Safe exit warning is iVT only.

! Crash test status
The Bayon has no Bharat NCAP rating yet. Hyundai says the platform is engineered for 5-star Indian standards, but that is a target, not a result. Autocar India reports results are awaited around the end of the year.

When do bookings, deliveries and the CNG version arrive?

  • Booking: Rs 11,000 token, online or at a Hyundai dealer. Bookings opened on 23 September 2026 (Autocar India).
  • Deliveries: CarWale says deliveries began on launch day, while AutoPunditz says they roll out through the festive season depending on variant and dealer allocation. Check with your dealer.
  • CNG: Autocar India reports Hyundai has confirmed a January 2027 launch for a factory-fitted CNG version. Price, power and mileage are not announced, so any figure you see is expected, not officially confirmed. AutoPunditz still calls the timing unconfirmed.

New-car owners often keep a jump starter with a 150 PSI tyre inflator in the boot, and a wireless car vacuum handy for the first fuel-stop clean-up.

The Bayon is the cheapest of the lot, roughly Rs 50,000 under the Victoris and Rs 90,000 under the Creta, but also the shortest. It shares the Creta's 115 PS engine. The Victoris has a longer body and hybrid and CNG choices, the Elevate has the most power, and the Creta offers diesel and turbo options the Bayon does not.

Which Bayon variant is value for money?

  • HX3+ manual (Rs 11.80 lakh): cheapest with an electric sunroof, the budget pick.
  • HX5 manual (Rs 12.45 lakh): our pick. Automatic climate control, wireless charging, cruise control, ventilated front seats and OTA updates.
  • HX5 iVT (Rs 13.85 lakh): the best automatic entry, as autos start here.
  • HX10: only if you want Level 2 ADAS and BOSE audio.
✓ What works
  • Lowest starting price among rivals here
  • Six airbags on every variant
  • 205 mm ground clearance and 505 L boot (as reported)
  • Familiar, proven 1.5L engine
! Watch-outs
  • No turbo, diesel or hybrid option
  • No crash test rating yet
  • Automatic only from HX5
  • ADAS only on the top HX10

Current Hyundai owners can see the ready-made fits on offer, for example an ECONO body cover for the Hyundai Venue, though we do not claim it fits the Bayon. A fresh MISTIQUE car perfume and a 1200 GSM microfiber towel round out a tidy first-week kit.

Key takeaways

  • Bayon starts at Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom and tops out near Rs 18.15 lakh.
  • One engine: 1.5L petrol, 115 PS, 143.8 Nm, 6MT or iVT (from HX5).
  • ARAI 18.6 kmpl is reported for the iVT only; no manual figure found.
  • Six airbags standard, Level 2 ADAS only on HX10, crash rating awaited.
  • CNG is due January 2027 per Autocar India; specs and price not announced.
★ Autofy verdict
The Bayon is a sharp price play. For most buyers HX5 manual gives the best feature-for-rupee balance, and we would wait for a crash rating before paying for HX10. If you want a longer body or hybrid, the Victoris is worth a test drive.
