What is new on the NS400Z TFT vs the standard NS400Z?
The change is limited to the instrument cluster, connectivity and switchgear. According to Rushlane, the new screen can stream data over Bluetooth and WiFi from your phone and mirror Google Maps wirelessly, so your phone screen can stay off in your pocket. Autocar India reports it is the same 5-inch TFT unit already used on other new Pulsars.
| Feature | NS400Z (standard) | NS400Z TFT |
|---|---|---|
| Ex-showroom price | Rs 1,80,092 | Rs 1,90,015 |
| Instrument cluster | Colour LCD with Bluetooth | 5-inch colour TFT |
| Navigation | Turn-by-turn arrows via app | Google Maps mirroring, wireless |
| Phone link | Bluetooth | Bluetooth and WiFi |
| Charging port | Not listed | USB Type-C |
| Switchgear | Standard switch cube | Updated switchgear to operate the TFT |
| Engine, chassis, brakes | Same | Same |
Note: some reports describe the new display as a touchscreen. Rushlane and Autocar India do not confirm touch input, and Rushlane says you control the TFT through the updated switchgear. Treat touch control as not officially confirmed until you try one at a showroom.
Pulsar NS400Z TFT engine and specifications
Mechanically, nothing changes. A quick clarification first: the NS400Z originally launched in 2024 with a 373cc engine, and some articles still quote that figure. Bajaj's official site now lists 349.13cc, after the April 2026 downsizing that moved the bike into the lower 18% GST slab for sub 350cc motorcycles. We use Bajaj's figure.
- Engine: 349.13cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, 4 valve DOHC
- Power and torque: about 40 PS at 9,000 rpm and 33.2 Nm at 7,500 rpm (Bajaj and BikeWale figures)
- Gearbox: 6 speed with assist and slipper clutch and a bi-directional quickshifter
- Electronics: ride by wire, four ride modes (Road, Rain, Sport, Off-Road), switchable traction control, dual channel ABS
- Hardware: 43mm USD fork, 320mm front disc with sintered pads, radial tyres, all LED lighting
- Fuel tank: 12 litres; kerb weight is listed at around 176 kg by BikeWale
Pulsar NS400Z TFT vs rivals: price and specs
Even with the premium, the NS400Z TFT undercuts every streetfighter with comparable power by a wide margin. Here is how it stacks up on current ex-showroom prices.
| Bike | Engine | Claimed power / torque | Ex-showroom price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z TFT | 349cc | About 40 PS / 33.2 Nm | Rs 1.90 lakh |
| Bajaj Pulsar NS400Z | 349cc | About 40 PS / 33.2 Nm | Rs 1.80 lakh |
| KTM 250 Duke | 249cc | 31 PS / 25 Nm | Rs 2.27 lakh |
| TVS Apache RTR 310 | 312cc | 35.6 PS / 28.7 Nm | From Rs 2.30 lakh |
| Triumph Speed 400 | 350cc | 36.4 bhp / 32 Nm | Rs 2.34 lakh |
| KTM 390 Duke | 350cc | 40.9 bhp / 33.5 Nm | Rs 2.84 lakh |
The KTM 390 Duke matches the Pulsar on power but costs nearly Rs 94,000 more. The Speed 400 and Apache RTR 310 bring premium brand appeal and fit and finish, while the KTM 250 Duke is less powerful yet still costlier.

Must have accessories for a new NS400Z
Whichever variant you pick, a few basics make ownership easier. If you park outdoors, a waterproof bike cover protects the new TFT and paint from monsoon rain and summer sun. With a 40 PS motor, good riding gloves with knuckle protection are non negotiable, and touchscreen compatible fingertips help at fuel stops.
For parking in busy markets, a 12mm combination helmet lock secures your lid to the bike, and a wire cable lock adds an extra layer of theft deterrence. Riding an older bike with a weak halogen headlamp? A 40W H4 bike LED headlight is a simple plug and play upgrade (the NS400Z already ships with LED projectors).
