Kawasaki has revealed the Ninja 7 Hybrid for the European market, although full specs have yet to be released. At its core is a 451cc parallel-twin engine with an electric motor, generating a combined power output of 58bhp.

Kawasaki has introduced the Ninja 7, which it claims is the world’s first mass-produced hybrid motorbike, to the European market. The ‘Hybrid Electric Vehicle’ is powered by a 451cc parallel-twin water-cooled 4-stroke engine and a 9kW electric motor with a 48V lithium-ion battery. According to the Japanese manufacturer, the combined power output is around 58bhp, which can be increased to 69bhp utilizing an e-boost mode (active for 15 seconds at a time). The petrol mill alone generates around 46bhp. In addition, the Ninja 7 Hybrid foregoes the typical clutch-gear shifter in favor of paddle shifters on the left side, similar to Honda’s DCT motorcycles. DCT (dual-clutch gearbox) technology was first featured in the Honda lineup on the VFR1200F in 2010.

Other Features of the Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid

The Ninja 7 also has an idle stop function to save fuel, a forward and reverse ‘walk mode’ for low-speed maneuvers and parking, an Automatic Launch Position Finder that allows the rider to select the first gear with the push of a button, and three riding modes – EV, Eco Hybrid, and Sport Hybrid. A full-color TFT screen with Bluetooth connection for notifications and navigation alerts has been borrowed from the Ninja e-1.

Chassis and Hardware for the Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid

The parallel-twin engine of the Ninja 7 Hybrid is snuggled in a steel trellis frame, with the 48V battery pack positioned towards the center to help control the vehicle’s weight. The Ninja 7’s suspension comprises a telescopic fork up front and a mono-shock up back. The hybrid motorbike features the same two front discs with Nissin calipers as the Ninja 400 and Ninja 650. The bike is equipped with 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels wrapped on tubeless Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires.

Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid: Design

The motorbike inherits a dual-pod headlamp and its surrounding body from the 2024 Ninja ZX-6R, while the fairing-mounted turn indicators are similar to those seen on the Ninja 400. The undercowl is matte lime green, while the body panels are silver/black.

According to the manufacturer, the Ninja 7 Hybrid is a mid-size motorcycle with performance equivalent to a 650-700cc bike with rapid acceleration to rival that of a 1,000cc-class supersport model from a standing start. It does, however, have the same fuel efficiency as a 250cc motorcycle. As of now, Kawasaki has released a few specifics about the Ninja 7 Hybrid.

Kawasaki Ninja 7 Hybrid: Pricing and Release Date

The hybrid vehicle is set to be on sale in the United Kingdom next year, with prices to be announced in the coming weeks. The deliveries are expected to begin in April 2024. However, it remains to be seen if this vehicle will be available in the Indian market or if it will stay an international model for us.

According to a report by the Economic Times, the electric car manufacturer VinFast Auto, which is located in Vietnam and is thought of as Tesla’s competition, intends to establish a production facility in India. Last month, VinFast Auto became the third-most valuable automaker in the world.

According to the report, the Vietnamese EV manufacturer may establish a facility in either Gujarat or Tamil Nadu.

The discussions are still in the early stages, but VinFast Auto is eager to expand into India, according to the report, which cited sources. However, it is unclear whether VinFast intends to export or if the new production operation would just service the Indian market.

If VinFast Auto follows through on its investment plans, it will be the first Vietnamese carmaker to establish a presence in India.

On its Nasdaq debut, VinFast received a valuation of around $85 billion, surpassing that of long-standing US carmaker Ford.

VinFast’s sales increased 131.2% to $327 million in the second quarter. Its net loss for the quarter was $526.7 million, down 8.2% from the same period the previous year.

It sold 7,100 vehicles to GSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Co., a Vietnamese cab firm of which Vuong owns 95%.

Bloomberg news agency reports that VinFast intends to ship its first electric vehicles to Europe in the fourth quarter. The company started this year by sending its first automobiles to the US.

Toyota Motor wants to establish a third vehicle manufacturing facility in India, expanding manufacturing capacity in the country for the first time in over a decade as its alliance with Suzuki Motor raises domestic sales, according to two sources.

According to an individual with firsthand knowledge of the plans, the world’s largest auto manufacturer wants the facility to start with a capacity of 80,000-120,000 vehicles per year, which might increase to about 200,000 over time.

The projected starting capacity of the plant will increase Toyota’s existing manufacturing capacity in India by up to 30% from 400,000 units currently.

Toyota has also initiated the development of a new sport utility vehicle (SUV) for the Indian market, which would be delivered in early 2026 and serve as an anchor product for the new plant, according to the person and a third source briefed on the company’s intentions.

The sources did not want to be named since the company has not publicized its growth intentions.

Toyota’s India unit refused to comment.

Toyota’s India sales have increased as a result of a global relationship with Suzuki in which the two Japanese automakers take cars manufactured by their partner, alter them, and sell them under their own names to round out their product lineup.

40% of Toyota’s sales in India are now made up of vehicles that were once part of Maruti Suzuki’s lineup, such as the Glanza hatchback and Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV.

Maruti Suzuki uses almost two-thirds of Toyota’s present manufacturing capacity for producing vehicles for both auto companies as part of their cooperation.

Toyota, best known in India for its Fortuner SUV and Camry hybrid, told Reuters earlier this month that it expected record domestic sales in 2023.

According to two insiders, the Japanese automaker is now aiming for a manufacturing capacity of 500,000 vehicles per year by the end of the decade, including the car types it will deliver to Suzuki.

India’s expansion

Toyota’s expansion into India, the world’s third-largest vehicle market, comes at a time when it is experiencing slower growth in countries such as Europe and North America, as well as competition from Chinese competitors in Southeast Asia.

It now operates two automobile facilities in Bidadi, a town in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, with a third planned for the same location. In May, it added a third shift to the two factories, increasing their total yearly capacity by 30% to more than 400,000 cars.

Toyota’s next C-segment SUV, codenamed 340D, will cover a gap between its mid-sized Urban Cruiser Hyryder and larger multi-purpose vehicle Innova Hycross, according to two sources.

They stated that they are working with vendors to create 60,000 units per year when it opens in early 2026.

They said that Toyota is considering launching a “mini” Land Cruiser in India but emphasized that the automaker is still considering its options and has not made a final decision. They claimed that if Toyota did decide to move through with the vehicle, parts would be imported for assembly in India.

Kia is one of the well-known automakers in India. With the Seltos, they first entered the Indian market in 2019. Since then, customers in the sector have found it to be a popular SUV. In India, Kia presently offers the EV6, Seltos, Carens, and Sonet as entry-level models. According to recent sources, the manufacturer intends to raise the cost of several models. The popular Seltos mid-size SUV and the Carens MPV will both see price increases from Kia. The company declared that both of these models’ prices will increase starting in October of this year. Up to 2% more will be added to the cost of certain models.

During this financial year, Kia has increased prices on certain of its models a second time. Other models in the range would currently have the same price. The freshly released Seltos SUV from Kia features significant updates. The Kia Seltos’ starting price, ex-showroom, is Rs 10.89 lakh. In order to accommodate demand throughout the forthcoming holiday season, the company even unveiled two additional models last week.

In a statement to the media, Hardeep S. Brar, national head of sales and marketing for Kia India, said: “While many of the companies have already taken the price increase post-April, we, however, did not take… besides, the raw material prices are going up, and we introduced the new Seltos and a lot of investment has gone into the product, so we think it is time that we take the price increase.” Prior to this, Kia raised the price of their models in April when they modified them to meet the new RDE standards.

When it comes to the forthcoming price increase, Kia has not specified which models would face a price hike. The cost of the cheaper models is probably going to increase by at least Rs 20,000, while the higher variants will likely experience a price increase of about Rs 40,000. The Kia Carens was released as a recreational vehicle or MPV. Due to its upscale appearance, roomy interior, and extensive feature set, it soon attracted customers’ attention. The current starting price for the Carens is Rs 10.45 lakh, ex-showroom, while the top-end variant is Rs 18.90 lakh, ex-showroom. Carens is probably going to see price increases in a manner akin to the Seltos.

There are both diesel and petrol engine options available for the Seltos and Carens. In fact, Kia is renowned for providing a range of engine and gearbox options to its consumers. A 1.5-liter petrol engine with IVT and a manual transmission is available for the Seltos. It also receives a new 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a 7-speed DCT & IMT transmission option. The 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine in the Seltos has a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission as an option. Similar engine and gearbox choices are also available for the Carens. The Seltos no longer has IMT, although the Carens diesel does.

The South Korean automaker, Hyundai Motor India, has recently released the first design render of its forthcoming micro-SUV, the Exter. With this design render, the company provided a glimpse of what the new SUV may look like. Taking inspiration from the design render, an artist has created a full design render of this forthcoming SUV. The video rendering of the new Hyundai Exter also shows the upcoming car compared to its soon-to-be biggest rival, the Tata Punch.

Hyundai Exter Video – First Look Revealed (Review)

The video rendering of the Hyundai Exter has been shared on YouTube via Bagrawala Designs on their channel. At the beginning of the video, glimpses of the front and rear of the Exter are shown, followed by the entire car. We can note that the artist has incorporated the front fascia design from the render released by Hyundai. As for the rear, it appears that the artist has taken design inspiration from the spy shots of the car that we have seen so far. Another one of the major talking points of this rendered video is that the artist has used the body of the Exter’s elder sibling, the Hyundai Venue. However, in reality, the Exter will be a little smaller than the Venue.

Hyundai Exter Back (Boot) Look Tail Light

After the solo rendering of the Hyundai Exter, the artist has also created a render of the vehicle next to a Tata Punch as well. The two cars can be seen standing next to each other, giving us a hint of what they could look like in the coming months. It is to be noted that as the Exter in this video uses a Hyundai Venue’s body, the overall design could differ in real life, but for the most part, the size of the Exter will be similar to that of Tata’s most popular micro-SUV, the Punch.

Hyundai Exter Launch Date June 2023 Price Rs 6-10 Lacs

For those who are unaware, the South Korean automaker is planning to launch the Exter in June 2023. The model will take the position as the brand’s most affordable SUV and will be priced in the range of Rs 6-10 lakh. According to reports, the company could be offering the model with a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine that can generate 83 PS of power and 114 Nm of torque. The standard gearbox offered will be a 5-speed manual, while a 5-speed AMT may also be provided as an option. The higher variants of the vehicle might also come with the option of a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, which is already offered in the Venue.

Hyundai Exter Front Look LED DRLs

The Exter will reportedly serve as a model for the entire globe, and as a result, the company has been putting it through rigorous testing. Many individuals believe that Hyundai might provide traction-based features like terrain modes to increase the vehicle’s capability, as the vehicle was recently spotted testing in the snow as well. If Hyundai decides to include these features in the Exter, then it will become the most affordable micro-SUV on the market with these features. Along with the Tata Punch, the Exter will be up against the compact SUV C3 from French automaker Citroen and lesser-equipped versions of the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Fronx.
