The Harley-Davidson X440 is set to go on sale in India on October 15, with a fresh buying window opening the following day. The bike presently costs between Rs 2.40 lakh and Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hero MotoCorp has announced that customer deliveries of the new Harley-Davidson X440 motorbike, a result of a cooperation between Harley-Davidson and Indian two-wheeler giant Hero MotoCorp, would begin on October 15, 2023. While Hero has not taken any new bookings since August 3rd, the company has said that it will reopen orders for the X440 on October 16th. Prospective purchasers can make reservations at certain Hero MotoCorp retail stores as well as all Harley-Davidson dealerships across the country. With the reopening of bookings, the motorcycle’s price will almost certainly rise – the first increase occurred less than a month after the bike was released in the domestic market. The entry-level Harley-Davidson X440 Denim, which was introduced on July 3, is presently available for Rs 2.40 lakh, while the mid-spec Vivid and top-spec S are priced at Rs 2.60 lakh and Rs 2.80 lakh, respectively. Prices are all ex-showroom, Delhi.
Due to the X440’s tremendous demand, Hero MotoCorp decided to temporarily halt the booking period on August 3. The X440 had more than 25,000 bookings at the end of its initial booking window. The top-spec S model accounted for almost 65 percent of them. The first booking window started on July 4 for a nominal fee of Rs 5,000. Test rides for the bike began on September 1 for customers who had pre-booked them.
