Ducati has released the newest Hypermotard 698 Mono to the global market. This flexible motorbike, according to the manufacturer, is intended for both city commuting and track performance. Ducati has not yet confirmed the Hypermotard 698 Mono’s possible release in the Indian market.

The Ambassador had a near-monopoly in the market at the time, leaving Padmini as its only direct competitor. While it was first sold as the Fiat 1100D, the name ‘Premier Padmini’ was given to it in 1974. Interestingly, this renowned automobile was produced at Premier Auto’s Kurla facility in Mumbai, which is why this city has the highest concentration of Premier Padmini models.

It was powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine with 39.45 bhp and 71 Nm of torque, teamed with a four-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. It was notable for having a column-mounted shifter rather than the standard gear lever. Its functionality and striking black-and-yellow color scheme made it an appealing choice for Mumbai taxis.

The BYD Seal was one of the show-stoppers at the Auto Expo earlier this year; a sumptuous, battery-powered sedan that stunned showgoers with its beautiful look and promised range. The business has previously stated that the automobile will be ready for introduction in India by late 2023. However, geopolitical concerns have resulted in strained relations between India and China. This has influenced several critical business choices for Chinese enterprises looking to establish new operations in India.

Initially, Great Wall Motors, a well-known SUV manufacturer, was denied the required permissions to assume management of the closed Chevrolet facility in the vicinity of Pune from General Motors. Fortunately for BYD India, both of its current models, the e6 MUV and the Atto3 compact SUV, are selling well and keeping the company’s network busy. However, a BYD spokesperson stated that dealers are receiving inquiries from customers interested in the Seal. In its most powerful iteration, the battery-powered vehicle has a 0-100 kmph speed of 3.8 seconds and a range of up to 700 km. The car is available in both single- and dual-motor configurations overseas, with the latter offering all-wheel drive.

According to reports, BYD is aiming for a price of around Rs 50 lakh for the Seal, although this would be impacted by the spec it picks for the Indian market. In the last two years, the luxury automobile category has experienced a flurry of EV releases. While the majority of the activity has occurred in the Rs 1 crore and above category, brands such as Volvo and BMW are now targeting the sub-Rs 1 crore market. With the Seal not being an SUV body shape, which appears to be a safer choice for new releases, the reception to the elegant Kia EV6 must bode well. Nissan showcased its latest electric concept car, the Hyper Force, at the 2023 Japan Mobility Show. New Toyota and Lexus EVs will include NACS charging connectors starting in 2025 while existing EV owners with CCS-compatible chargers will receive a NACS converter.

Toyota Motor North America has signed an agreement with Tesla to use the latter’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for its forthcoming electric cars (EVs) beginning in 2025. Toyota is going to install the NACS ports into selected Toyota and Lexus BEVs to integrate them. Customers who own or lease eligible Toyota and Lexus vehicles that are now equipped with the Combined Charging System (CCS) will be given an adapter to enable NACS charging beginning in 2025.

Customers will have access to a vast charging network, consisting of over 84,000 charging outlets across North America, including both Level 2 and DC fast chargers, through specific Toyota and Lexus mobile applications.

The Triumph Thruxton Final Edition will be the cafe racer’s final outing. It’s available in a rich metallic paint scheme dubbed “Competition Green.”

The Triumph Thruxton will be phased out in 2024. Having said that, the British company has introduced the Thruxton Final Edition to commemorate the event. The cafe racer’s final hurrah, as the name indicates, will arrive in showrooms in Spring 2024. The Thruxton Final Edition costs £15,095, which amounts to Rs 15.32 lakh. Triumph claims that the Final Edition is a fusion of the Thruxton RS’s design and grace, paying respect to the cafe racer’s racing pedigree. Triumph has saved specific features for the Final Edition in order to separate it from the top-spec RS. One of these is a metallic paint scheme called “Competition Green,” which contrasts with black side panels and mudguards. The artist’s initials are hand-painted in gold accents on the sculpted fuel tank and seat cowl. The most special feature, however, is the certificate of authenticity with the bike’s unique VIN (Vehicle Identification Number), which the Thruxton Final Edition will possess. This agreement will be signed by members of the Thruxton 1200 design team as well as Triumph CEO Nick Bloor. However, the Final Edition retains several Thruxton-specific components, like the single bullet seat, Monza-style gasoline filler cap, clip-on handlebars, anodized aluminum swingarm, and so on.
