According to a report by the Economic Times, the electric car manufacturer VinFast Auto, which is located in Vietnam and is thought of as Tesla’s competition, intends to establish a production facility in India. Last month, VinFast Auto became the third-most valuable automaker in the world.

According to the report, the Vietnamese EV manufacturer may establish a facility in either Gujarat or Tamil Nadu.

The discussions are still in the early stages, but VinFast Auto is eager to expand into India, according to the report, which cited sources. However, it is unclear whether VinFast intends to export or if the new production operation would just service the Indian market.

If VinFast Auto follows through on its investment plans, it will be the first Vietnamese carmaker to establish a presence in India.

VinFast Auto surpassed Tesla and Toyota to become the world’s third-largest carmaker by market capitalization last month.

With its first results after entering the market in August, VinFast’s revenue over doubled in the second quarter due to increased deliveries to domestic clients.

On its Nasdaq debut, VinFast received a valuation of around $85 billion, surpassing that of long-standing US carmaker Ford.

VinFast’s sales increased 131.2% to $327 million in the second quarter. Its net loss for the quarter was $526.7 million, down 8.2% from the same period the previous year.

According to an 18 September filing, VinFast, funded by Vietnam’s richest man, Pham Nhat Vuong, has sold a total of 18,700 electric vehicles, predominantly in Vietnam, as of June 30. It sold 7,100 vehicles to GSM Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Co., a Vietnamese cab firm of which Vuong owns 95%.

Bloomberg news agency reports that VinFast intends to ship its first electric vehicles to Europe in the fourth quarter. The company started this year by sending its first automobiles to the US.

Toyota Motor wants to establish a third vehicle manufacturing facility in India, expanding manufacturing capacity in the country for the first time in over a decade as its alliance with Suzuki Motor raises domestic sales, according to two sources.

According to an individual with firsthand knowledge of the plans, the world’s largest auto manufacturer wants the facility to start with a capacity of 80,000-120,000 vehicles per year, which might increase to about 200,000 over time.

The projected starting capacity of the plant will increase Toyota’s existing manufacturing capacity in India by up to 30% from 400,000 units currently.

Toyota has also initiated the development of a new sport utility vehicle (SUV) for the Indian market, which would be delivered in early 2026 and serve as an anchor product for the new plant, according to the person and a third source briefed on the company’s intentions.

The sources did not want to be named since the company has not publicized its growth intentions.

Toyota’s India unit refused to comment.

Toyota’s India sales have increased as a result of a global relationship with Suzuki in which the two Japanese automakers take cars manufactured by their partner, alter them, and sell them under their own names to round out their product lineup.

40% of Toyota’s sales in India are now made up of vehicles that were once part of Maruti Suzuki’s lineup, such as the Glanza hatchback and Urban Cruiser Hyryder SUV.

Maruti Suzuki uses almost two-thirds of Toyota’s present manufacturing capacity for producing vehicles for both auto companies as part of their cooperation.

Toyota, best known in India for its Fortuner SUV and Camry hybrid, told Reuters earlier this month that it expected record domestic sales in 2023.

According to two insiders, the Japanese automaker is now aiming for a manufacturing capacity of 500,000 vehicles per year by the end of the decade, including the car types it will deliver to Suzuki.

India’s expansion

Toyota’s expansion into India, the world’s third-largest vehicle market, comes at a time when it is experiencing slower growth in countries such as Europe and North America, as well as competition from Chinese competitors in Southeast Asia.

It now operates two automobile facilities in Bidadi, a town in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, with a third planned for the same location. In May, it added a third shift to the two factories, increasing their total yearly capacity by 30% to more than 400,000 cars.

Toyota’s next C-segment SUV, codenamed 340D, will cover a gap between its mid-sized Urban Cruiser Hyryder and larger multi-purpose vehicle Innova Hycross, according to two sources.

They stated that they are working with vendors to create 60,000 units per year when it opens in early 2026.

They said that Toyota is considering launching a “mini” Land Cruiser in India but emphasized that the automaker is still considering its options and has not made a final decision. They claimed that if Toyota did decide to move through with the vehicle, parts would be imported for assembly in India.

The Micra EV will have similar foundations to the future Renault 5 EV and the Alpine model.

Nissan has unveiled the 20-23, a brand-new city electric vehicle concept. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Nissan’s European design center in Paddington, London, this is effectively a glimpse of the following-generation Micra.

  1. By 2026, the Micra EV will be in production.
  2. It will be supported by the CMF-BEV platform from Nissan.
  3. Will incorporate design elements from previous Micra versions.

The 20-23 concept, according to the automaker, honors both Nissan’s involvement in the Formula E racing series and its “heritage of bold hatchbacks.”

A city-based hatchback with race-spec

Makoto Uchida, the company’s president and CEO, introduced the concept in front of Nissan Design Europe’s (NDE) offices. The location in the heart of London was selected to emphasize the 20-23’s positioning as a “sporty urban” idea. The NDE team was given free rein to create a vehicle with “no restrictions,” and the end result is a design that is obviously race-inspired. It has massive front and back diffusers, a rear wing designed for touring cars, oversized wheel arches, and ultra-low-profile racing tires.

The roof scoop, racing numbers, Lamborghini-style scissor doors, and air-channeling louvers are a few further highly imaginative design elements that, according to the company, maintain “Nissan’s tradition of bringing eye-catching playfulness to the world of hatchbacks and city cars.”

Renault 5-inspired design

Nissan’s electric Micra successor, scheduled to begin production in 2026, can be seen best via the 20-23’s racy exterior. It would be constructed on the same CMF-BEV platform that Alliance partner Renault uses for its own Renault 5 and Alpine A290 sporty hatchbacks.

The black ‘floating’ roof and two-piece circular LED light clusters are two signals present in the side profile picture that are carried over to this idea. Even though the 20-23 concept omitted the actual car’s rear doors, the two vehicles have a similar profile and dimensions.

The concept’s interior is far less likely to be used in the final product because it was created as a “futuristic interpretation of a racing car’s bare functionality.”

To get to their deep bucket seats, the driver and passenger must climb over foam-covered brace bars. In place of a steering wheel, the driver holds a yoke-style device with a variety of switches and buttons. Paddles are located behind the yoke to control the performance of the electric motors and regenerative brakes.

Production information for the Next-gen Micra

The all-electric Micra will be made alongside the Renault 5 at the French automaker’s ElectriCity production facility in northern France and will have the same power and range numbers as its sibling (134hp front-mounted engine and 400km range).

Nissan’s presence in India

Nissan used to sell the Micra in India until a few years ago, but the company now only offers the Magnite SUV, which will soon add an AMT gearbox to its lineup of available powertrains.

Kia is one of the well-known automakers in India. With the Seltos, they first entered the Indian market in 2019. Since then, customers in the sector have found it to be a popular SUV. In India, Kia presently offers the EV6, Seltos, Carens, and Sonet as entry-level models. According to recent sources, the manufacturer intends to raise the cost of several models. The popular Seltos mid-size SUV and the Carens MPV will both see price increases from Kia. The company declared that both of these models’ prices will increase starting in October of this year. Up to 2% more will be added to the cost of certain models.

During this financial year, Kia has increased prices on certain of its models a second time. Other models in the range would currently have the same price. The freshly released Seltos SUV from Kia features significant updates. The Kia Seltos’ starting price, ex-showroom, is Rs 10.89 lakh. In order to accommodate demand throughout the forthcoming holiday season, the company even unveiled two additional models last week.

In a statement to the media, Hardeep S. Brar, national head of sales and marketing for Kia India, said: “While many of the companies have already taken the price increase post-April, we, however, did not take… besides, the raw material prices are going up, and we introduced the new Seltos and a lot of investment has gone into the product, so we think it is time that we take the price increase.” Prior to this, Kia raised the price of their models in April when they modified them to meet the new RDE standards.

When it comes to the forthcoming price increase, Kia has not specified which models would face a price hike. The cost of the cheaper models is probably going to increase by at least Rs 20,000, while the higher variants will likely experience a price increase of about Rs 40,000. The Kia Carens was released as a recreational vehicle or MPV. Due to its upscale appearance, roomy interior, and extensive feature set, it soon attracted customers’ attention. The current starting price for the Carens is Rs 10.45 lakh, ex-showroom, while the top-end variant is Rs 18.90 lakh, ex-showroom. Carens is probably going to see price increases in a manner akin to the Seltos.

There are both diesel and petrol engine options available for the Seltos and Carens. In fact, Kia is renowned for providing a range of engine and gearbox options to its consumers. A 1.5-liter petrol engine with IVT and a manual transmission is available for the Seltos. It also receives a new 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a 7-speed DCT & IMT transmission option. The 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine in the Seltos has a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission as an option. Similar engine and gearbox choices are also available for the Carens. The Seltos no longer has IMT, although the Carens diesel does.

All MotoGP riders have experienced the Buddh International Circuit for the first time after the free practice sessions are over. Here are their comments on the newest track on the MotoGP circuit.

Riders experienced the Buddh International Circuit for the first time on the first day of free practice and timed practice for the first MotoGP round ever held in India. The Buddh International Circuit previously hosted Formula 1 races in 2011, 2012, and 2013. The fastest lap time was recorded by Luca Marini of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team at 1:44:783, with Marco Bezzecchi of the same team and Jorge Martin of the Prima Pramac Racing reaching a peak speed of 348.7 kmph.

Following the free practice sessions, the riders had the following to say about the Buddh International Circuit. A few of them also expressed worries about run-off areas, particularly turn 4 immediately following the BIC back straight. With their twin apexes, turns 8 and 9 are enjoyable, but the approach and departure remain challenging.

Francesco Bagnaia – Ducati Lenovo

“They did a really good job in terms of washing the track. And yeah, it’s very technical. Some parts of the track are very difficult, like corner one, because you have just one line and you can brake just at a point because if you brake one meter after, you are wide and you go outside. So, it’s quite intense to be very precise on that and also corner 12, I think I did twice the correct line today. I was always wide, it was very difficult” ” the reigning world champion said.

Marc Marquez – Repsol Honda

“I think it’s fantastic. I think they did a very good job last two months. It’s true that we can improve a few things for next year, but they did a very good job. Our riders were very thankful that this GP can be in a normal way, and adjusting alright,” Marc Marquez, an eight-time world champion, stated.

“Grid positions will be very important because here it will be very difficult to overtake, because when you don’t go on a racing line, it’s so easy to make a mistake, in turn 1, and turn 4. The layout of the track is nice, and the grip is better than what we expected. It’s true that it’s not like Misano. So yeah, the grip of the track is good and the layout also is nice,” Marquez added.

Turn 1 remains challenging, and most riders appear to agree that it will be important on race day. Three accidents happened in turn 1 on Friday, and LCR Honda rider Nakagami was also involved in a high-speed crash after losing the front end while applying strong brakes.

“This corner is so easy to make a mistake, especially on the braking point. You try to brake 2-3 meters later, which is not easy at 300 kmph, and then you meet the turn, so yeah, you need to be very precise. So, maybe the next lap you brake earlier, then you miss the speed. It’s so critical that T1 is the most difficult one to be consistent,” Marquez stated.

You might also want to give this a read: VOLKSWAGEN TAYRON, A CONFIRMED UPCOMING 7-SEATER THAT WILL COMPETE WITH THE TOYOTA FORTUNERClick Here

Jack Miller – KTM Red Bull

“It’s so visually deceiving. You can’t see where you’re going so you feel like you’re just accelerating towards the wall at the end. It’s a weird optical illusion, and it goes against every fiber in your body to keep accelerating.”

Brad Binder – KTM Red Bull

“For me, Turn 1 is probably one of the most critical corners that I’ve ridden on so far. if you miss your braking point by nothing, you’re buggered. Like, it’s hectic. So I hope everyone gets through clean, and from there we can fight.”

Miguel Oliviera – RNF MotoGP

“Turn 1 is a little bit difficult to do! It’s a 90º corner with a very narrow exit, and 90º corners only have one line anyway. But with the left afterward, the track continues a little more to the right before you turn right, and it’s slightly downhill then uphill. It’s a nightmare to do! Every time you go into a new lap, if you’re a little bit too late looking at the dashboard or switching a button or whatever, you’re gone – you don’t make the corner.”

This is the first MotoGP round to be held at the Buddh International Circuit, and so far it has been exciting and sets the mood well for qualifying on Saturday and race day. There are 5 left and 9 right turns on the 4.96 km-long circuit. The track is 12 meters wide overall, with the longest straight being 1,006 meters.

Volkswagen has declared its intention to discontinue the current-generation Tiguan AllSpace in every market where it is presently sold in favor of the Tayron, a brand-new SUV. The new Volkswagen Tayron will replace the Tiguan AllSpace, a seven-seater variant of the Tiguan SUV that is being phased out. The Tayron will, however, be marketed as a “Tiguan” in the USA.

Although Volkswagen already sells the Tayron SUV in China, the forthcoming Tiguan AllSpace replacement will be a different vehicle. It is anticipated to arrive as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) product in India as the Volkswagen Tayron. The Tayron will be built on the same MQB Evo platform as the next Skoda Kodiaq, which will also be on sale in India.

The new Tayron will have a distinctive external appearance, in contrast to the completely redesigned Volkswagen Tiguan, which has been presented internationally. The Tiguan AllSpace, in comparison, has kept its longer, comparable three-row appearance. The Tayron will also come in a five-seater configuration and be offered as an SUV coupe. It’s doubtful that this model will be offered in India, though. However, many of the interior designs and features of the three-row Tayron and the two-row Tayron SUV-coupe are likely to be shared with the brand-new Tiguan.

Will be equipped with a powerful 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine

Two engine choices will be available for the brand-new Volkswagen Tayron: a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-liter diesel engine. Both powertrains will use a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 48V mild-hybrid technology. In keeping with the brand’s long-term policy of only selling petrol-powered vehicles, Volkswagen will only offer the petrol powertrain in the Indian market. Both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions of the Tayron will be offered, however only the latter will be accessible in India.

Furthermore, the Volkswagen Tayron will launch two additional petrol plug-in hybrid powertrains with 204 and 272 horsepower on a global level. A 19.7 kWh battery will provide both choices with a 100 km electric-only range. There’s a chance that one of these plug-in hybrid powertrains would make its debut in the Indian market since Volkswagen has lately stated that hybrid goods could be introduced here.

The highly anticipated Volkswagen Tayron is set to make its debut in India by early 2025. This three-row SUV will be available in a petrol-only variant, and it will follow the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route, unlike the Tiguan AllSpace which was initially introduced as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). Get ready for a fantastic addition to Volkswagen’s lineup!

More information on the new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorbike is becoming available online as its release draws closer. Additional details regarding this brand-new Royal Enfield motorbike, such as its engine specifications and measurements, have just been revealed in a leaked document. Contrary to earlier rumors that it would be called the Himalayan 450, the document also unexpectedly specifies that the motorcycle would be known as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 will be fitted with a new four-stroke, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 451.65cc engine with a maximum output of 40 PS at 8,000 rpm, according to the information in the document that Zigwheels leaked. The torque output is not stated in the text, although it is assumed to be in the 40–45 Nm range. The motorbike will also come equipped with a 6-speed gearbox system.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452’s dimensions are also revealed by the leaked document. It is expected to have dimensions of 2245mm in length, 852mm in width, and 1316mm in height, with a 1510mm wheelbase.

The Himalayan 452 will include a new LED headlight, dual-functioning LED tail lights, upside-down telescopic front forks, a rear mono-shock, and a rounded fully digital instrument dashboard, according to spy photos that have been released thus far. Additionally, traction control and slide and assist clutch are expected to be included in the 2019 Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, a first for a Royal Enfield motorbike.

The brand-new Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 will make its public premiere during the company’s yearly “Motoverse” celebration in Goa from November 24 to 26. The new Himalayan 452 offers significant improvements over the outgoing Himalayan 411, including a bigger, more powerful engine, liquid cooling, better suspension, wider tires, and bigger disc brakes. Additionally, it adds new features, some of which are now unavailable on any other Royal Enfield motorcycles.

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 is a response to the rapidly expanding single-cylinder adventure motorcycle market. The new Himalayan 452, with its more potent engine and other additional features, will directly compete with bikes like the KTM 390 Adventure and BMW G 310 GS, while the existing Himalayan 411 competes with models like the KTM 250 Adventure, Benelli TRK 251, and Yezdi Adventure. Furthermore, there are claims that Hero MotoCorp is creating a 400-450cc-powered version of the Xpulse, which, if true, would directly compete with the Himalayan 452.
